Leaving the Jehovahs Witnesses

Leaving The Jehovahs Witnesses

Since leaving the Jehovahs Witnesses I have been on an interesting journey in my quest to find the truth. I went as far as obtaining my Chaplaincy degree and have endured many hours of debates with Professors and other Bible students, around the doctrine of the Trinity. I have purchased and read many books and absorbed many peoples opinions and thoughts on Bible Doctrines and the stories therein. Many times I became disillusioned which resulted in me casting my learning materials aside together with all of my Bibles, only to find that I couldn’t cope in the end without Gods word in my life.

On my journey I have come to realise that arguing with people in an attempt to wrestle them down to the ground with your opinions is not Godly. When I learnt to let go of all my fears and doubts and when I stopped arguing I finally found peace. Along with peace I found a sense of knowing. I discovered that I do not need a man-made organization or any man to tell me how to worship my God.

I also realised that there are millions of unchurched individuals who have been let down by their churches and that these poor souls have experienced similar reproach and shunning by their church members, family and friends. To this end I am continually working towards helping those that are unchurched.

Conflict With The Elders

Jehovahs Witnesses elders will do their best to dissuade you from doing any research on the internet. They will ask you things like, “do you know and trust these people who are writing these things against the organization”? They will try to convince you that these apostates are untrustworthy and liers. The simple answer to their question is, “No, I don’t know or trust anyone on the internet but I do trust the Bible. My decision to leave the organization is Bible based.”

The elders also rely on guilt and shame feelings. They will attempt to  make you feel guilty for doing resesarch against Gods organization in an effort to change your mind. At this point you need to have some facts which you can draw on. The best resource you can use against the elders is  disassociaton letters from ex-elders and ex- bethalites who have done all the research and fact checking. Below is an example:

Fact Number 1

Throughout the decades, the United Nations has been vilified by the Watchtower, and has been described as being part of Satan’s system deserving of destruction.

“No, the UN is not a blessing, even though the religious clergy of Christendom and the rabbis of Jewry pray heaven’s blessing upon that organization. It is really “the image of the wild beast,” the visible political, commercial organization of “the god of this system of things,” Satan the Devil. So the UN will soon be destroyed along with that beastly organization.” Watchtower 1984 Sep 15 p.15

Christendom has regularly been condemned for its involvement with the United Nations, being pictured as the Harlot that rides on the back of the prophetic scarlet beast. Watchtower 1963 Nov 15 p.697

In 1992, the Watchtower became an Associate NGO with the United Nations.
